My name is Mick and this blog will be about bird watching and other topics like hiking and camping. I just got a secondhand compact camera (nikon s9700) and decided to go to a local park in Oxenford (hint: it was named in honour of the Queensland minister for everything and there is a nearby dam named after him). It is a well known bird watching park. The geese and ducks can be a tad intimidating as they approach you for food (you are not officially allowed to feed them).

It was about 5.30 pm and out of 100 snaps these were the best shots. The nikon seems to give good results but I have no idea how to use the video, so I have a bit of research to do to learn how to use it.
